It is a riven and cleft slate from China and is suitable mainly as a flooring tile as it is very hard-wearing - almost indestructible!

As slate flooring the Blackmoor tile has a great deal of character and texture. Slate's micro-crystalline structure also makes it quite stain resistant, so especially useful as a kitchen floor tile or other domestic rooms with lots of foot-traffic.
